Hunstanton Sailing Club hosts a fundraising weekend in aid of the RNLI...
Hunstanton Sailing Club will be holding a long weekend of events in aid of RNLI over the August Bank Holiday.

On Saturday 26th August there will be a disco for members and guests with the fat monkey project DJs. For those who like fancy dress, this year's theme is "salty sea-dog". Entry is £5, by ticket purchased in advanced.

On Sunday 27th and Monday 28th August the club will host its third Arthur Fears RNLI Cup and Pennant race. There will be four races over the two days with boats from the club as well as visiting sailors from across the region taking part. To enter online click here.

The aim of the weekend is for the Club to raise funds to present to the Hunstanton branch of the RNLI Guild (the fundraising arm of RNLI). The sailors will be racing to win a cup as well as an RNLI pennant which was presented to the club by the Hunstanton branch.

Hunstanton Sailing Club is based on the promenade at Hunstanton with a range of facilities including car parking, boat parking as well as a bar and clubhouse with the usual changing facilities. The club was founded in 1949 and continues to have a thriving membership of dinghy sailors, windsurfers and kite surfers.

Throughout the season, from April to October there is a busy programme of events with dinghy racing most weekends. When the weather is too windy for dinghy sailors, the windsurfers and kite-surfers come out to add colour to the scene. Events such as North West Norfolk Sailing Association Week and the RNLI Cup are always well attended with lots of racing followed by a barbeque and other social events.
