View Full Version : North Phantom 08 Board - Lost at Heacham Mon 12 May
Hiya,
Me and my bro lost our new board at Heacham today. The board is an unhelpful grey with red writing on it. It hasn't got our details on as we haven't had our Hub/HSC membership packs yet.
The time was about 7:30ish with the tide on the way back in and the wind blowing cross toward Snettisham. I will be phoning the coast guard and Oceanside in the morning to let them know.
Going to mount a search expedition tomorrow morning.
If anyone has any ideas where it might have gone I'd welcome any suggestions
James
Sounds like it would have almost certainly gone Snettisham way (wind and tide headed in that direction). Worth a post on http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk and http://community.flexifoil.com/ lost & found sections too.
Good luck finding it James.
Thanks Marcus,
We walked in both directions from Snettisham this morning but no luck so far. We're going back at bit later and walking towards Wolverton way as it hopefuly might have beached itself as the shoreline snakes around. Bit cheeky but would you be able to re post my original post on the sites you suggested as I'm having a bit of trouble getting registered?
I think despair is setting in......
Really sorry to hear that guys.
You should have taken me up on the offer of fitting a leash for you after all.
I let you know if something turns up. Lets hope for the best.
OH MY GOD!!!!!! It has now turned up on ebay in Wisbeach! I think I'm going to be sick!

Have contacted the seller and will keep you all posted
Dan
if you get any sh*t from the seller let me know - I've been in this exact situation and the law is on YOUR side - first step is get their name, contact details - argue later....
Thanks man :D
I'll see what happens and hope for the best
If the auction goes all the way make sure that you are the winner. That way you will get contact info for the seller and no-one else will have claim to the board.
Good luck guys!
Success!!!! :D
What a day though...
We emailed the seller and stated that it was ours and that we would gladly give him a reward for the return of the board and he replied that he had indeed found it and wanted us to confirm the serial number on the board to prove it was ours. He also said he had reported it to Hunstanton Norfolk Constabulary and that we should check in with them.
Problem 1
We didn't have the serial number
We decided that the best course of action would be to check in with Sven at Oceanside to see if he had a copy of the S/N....which unfortunately he did not.
Rolled over to the Police station to plead our case and see where we stood....which it turned out was in the shit.
We were asked if we had reported the board as lost with them.
Problem 2
We didn't report it lost to the Police!
We were then informed that all lost property handed in is given 28 days to be claimed before it becomes property of the person who found it.
The best part of this is that he had the lost property book open in front of him all the while with ALL the details...including the S/N.. so while I was talking to him my brother got the number down on his mobile phone! Winner!
Bish bash bosh Confirmed the S/N, put in a maximum bid of a grand on eBay and won the bid, went and collected the board and gave the bloke £50 and a nice bottle of red for doing the right thing.
I'd like to think that we have learnt
a) If you lose something ..you should probably report it to the police
b) If something has a S/N...you should probably write it down
Nice one bud. Very lucky though :)
