First day of the new season!
FIRST DAY OF THE NEW SEASON!
It’s the 1st of May so that means the beginning of the membership year – so what’s new?
First off – very pleased to report that the weather station is up and running again thanks to the ever resourceful Will Rockcliffe and big thanks to Marcus Hawkins for figuring out the new ‘widgets’ (yes – that IS a real word)

The webcam has been installed and is working – we’re just tweaking how it displays within the webpage – so keep an eye out for that shortly
TOMORROW – Sat 2nd May the club is hosting a FREE first-aid, CPR and AED (defib) training session from 11am to 12 noon. We’ve still got a few spaces left so if you’d like to get involved please email me at jmobe@talktalk.net
SUNDAY 3rd May – the club is hosting a fancy-dress, RNLI fundraiser 7pm till late with live music, comedy, dancing etc. Local photographer Craig Taberner will be on hand to take pictures of your outfits – and the new owners of the food kiosk opposite the club are staying open late to provide us with hot food at a discounted rate
So come and get you’re groove on and help raise money for this outstanding cause!

SATURDAY 16th May – sees the club host an OK Dinghy Class sailing event.
The 16th AND 17th will see legendary kitesurfing coach Jo Wilson putting the future talent of the sport through their paces with a Youth Coaching weekend.
While on the subject of kitesurfing – delighted to now be able to announce that the club will be hosting the final event in a new freestyle tour instigated by Rou Chater from http://www.iksurfmag.com and Jim Gaunt from http://kiteworldmag.com in conjuction with the British Kitesports Association. The event is the weekend of August 15th and 16th – more details to follow soon.
Also delighted to announce that the club will be providing over the coming months – as many kitesurfing ‘deepwater packdown’ sessions as we can fit in. We’ve got 2 ribs at our disposal and a number of qualified BKSA Instructors raring to go – so if you’d like to get involved – again email me at jmobe@talktalk.net
