Bags of Help

If you shop in Hunstanton or Heacham Tesco’s – keep an eye out for the ‘Bags of Help’ section where you can vote for three local projects – one of which is for some new SUP’s for Hunstanton Sailing Club  :-)

Each time you make a purchase you get a token (unless you use the self-service tills) – place the token in the slot of the project you’d like to support  :-)

The promotion runs throughout May and June…

  • The Bags of Help initiative is supported by money from the five pence charge levied on single-use carrier bags in Tesco stores.
  • So far Bags of Help has awarded over £28.5 million to  more than 4,000 community projects.

Sailing Sunday 2pm

April 20, 2017 No Comments
Quick reminder that the club sailing season kicks off this Sunday (23rd).
We’ve switched the starting time to the afternoon to better suit the tides – meet down the club at 2pm :-)
This is an open session to those wanting to race for fun / or dust off the cobwebs.
Participants need to be capable of sailing from the shore and back to the shore unsupervised in moderate conditions. Those that participated in at least two of the training sessions last year should be ok to join in. Use of own boat or club boats if you don’t have your own.
Hopefully see you there!

Big thanks to everyone who joined in with the Beach Clean on Saturday :-) Over 50 people turned up to help and lots of things cleared up from clothing to broken bottles, metal bars, plastic containers etc. Special thanks to Samantha Rutt from Barefoot SUP for organising it along with help from Hunstanton Watersports, Hunstanton Kayaks and Hunstanton Round Table

Thanks Les!

Start of season

March 26, 2017 No Comments

Just a quick reminder that our season officially kicks off next Saturday 1st April :-)

We’ve got a Beach Clean beginning from the club at 1pm as part of Surfers Against Sewage national campaign.

BIG thanks to Hunstanton Round Table for providing £200 worth of equipment including gloves, biodegradable bin bags, litter pickers etc. and to the borough council for giving us the go ahead.

Also big thanks to Sam from Barefoot SUP who’s been organising the event along with Hunstanton Watersports and Hunstanton Kayaks.

The bar will be open afterwards in the afternoon and evening.

Also – if you want to renew your annual membership in person – you’ll have that option available all day / evening.

Hope to see you there and roll on summer!!!

Membership Secretary

Sailing 2017

February 15, 2017 No Comments

Won’t be too long before the 2017 season kicks in – so here’s a brief heads-up as to our plans regards Sailing in 2017.

On a competitive level – the club’s contribution to the annual regatta “North West Norfolk Week” will be the weekend of 5th and 6th of August this year. For more information check out the NWNW website at

On a club level – we’re planning on holding regular FUN races throughout the season open to both members and non-members. This will kick off on Sun 23rd April with a ‘Refresher’ session open to those wanting to race or to dust off the cobwebs. Participants need to be capable of sailing from the shore and back to the shore unsupervised in moderate conditions. Those that participated in at least two of the training sessions last year should be OK to join in. Use your own boat or club boats if needed.

The planned races will then take place on:

April 30th – race start 10am

May 28th – race start 9am

June 25th – race start 9am

July 30th – race start 11am

August 27th – race start 10am

September 24th – race start 9.30am

If anyone requires more information email Stuart Moore at or telephone 01485 579363.

Outside of these dates we also have pencilled in a couple of days where you can come and give sailing a go / take a ‘joyride’ in a boat: namely “Push the boat out” on 21st May and a general club open day on July 1st. More details to follow.

If there’s enough interest / support we will also run some informal sessions between the dates above.

Remember this is community / volunteer run club – so if there’s anything you think we should be doing / anything you’d be willing to help with – please don’t be shy about coming forward :-)

Regards the above and all other events – please keep an eye on the club ‘Events Calendar’ page at
