Huge thanks to all the competitors and crew who came to the finals of the British Kitesurfing Championships at HSC at the end of July. Special mention to club member Toby Cooke for taking 2017 overall runner-up in the juniors.

Kitesurf Safety Day 4th June
Hunstanton Sailing Club are running a kitesurf safety day where qualified kitesurfing instructors will cover the following:
Checking equipment over, safety systems etc
Deep water pack downs/self rescue with safety boat cover
Running through scenarios
Afterwards we’ll light the BBQ and open up the bar!
HSC Members Free of Charge / Non members £10 to cover parking/day membership of HSC and safety boat running costs.

Fun, affordable kitesurfing bordercross event at Hunstanton on Saturday 1st October.
Race against other kitesurfers over inflatable objects over a fast, downwind course.

It appears we are one of the nominees for ‘best event of 2015’ for the British Kitesurfing Championships final the club hosted back on the 15th and 16th August.

British Kitesurfing Championships
So a big week for kitesurfing in Hunstanton coming up with the Sailing Club hosting the finals of the British Kitesurfing Championships next weekend August 14th – 16th.
On friday evening the BKSA are holding their Annual General Meeting at the club starting at 6.30 pm. Straight after the AGM – top kitesurf coach Jo Wilson will be giving us a talk and this will be followed by some of the latest video releases. Free drinks and nibbles provided courtesy of the BKSA during the evening.
Saturday sees the first possible start for the BKC finals with categories including mens pros, womens pros, amateur men, amateur women, Juniors (under 16) and masters. If you’ve never competed before this a great opportunity to dip your toe into the competitive kitesurfing scene. Competing is undoubtedly one of the best motivators for improving your kitesurfing skills and also great fun socially.

There’s free parking on the prom for competitors as well as 24hr access to hot showers / changing rooms / clubhouse with bar, TV, WiFi, kitchen, weatherstation etc / free breakfast each morning / free meal saturday evening and of course saturday night party 🙂
If you’re not interested in competing – no problem – why not get yourself down and check out / demo all the latest gear from the top brands and of course hang around and check out the party in the evening 😉

Youth Training Weekend
Massive thanks to inspirational coach Jo Wilson for an awesome Youth Training Weekend putting some of the most promising UK kitesurfing talent through their paces. Two solid days of wind saw them all leave tired but happy! 🙂
