Sarah D

July 13, 2014 No Comments

Thanks to the skill and determination of Ian Holland, Stuart Moore, Will Rockcliffe and a few other valuable helpers the Sarah D is now finally on the mooring and ready for North West Norfolk Weekend and of course the major event in our sailing calendar the Mirror Miracles 40th Anniversary Nationals in August. I would also like to thank those members who came down two weeks ago and helped me finish painting the Boat. It’s been a long wait this year but when you see her at her mooring, it’s all suddenly worthwhile.

Wednesday evenings

April 28, 2014 No Comments

We are starting the Wednesday evening fun watersports once again this season commencing this week at 5pm. All are welcome to come and try the various craft – weather and tide permitting. We will have a safety boat on the water so don’t be shy – have a try.

Again, weather-permitting we can share a Barbie too.

Look forward to seeing new and old faces down the club.

First Day of Youth Fun Week is a success

August 13, 2013 No Comments
Mick wishes to thank all those volunteers who made today so successful. We had 21 Young People on the water despite high winds and a short nasty choppy sea which made sailing impossible even though we did attempt to get the Wayfarer and Micks cat on the water. A short broad reach back n forth convinced Mick it was too risky to take the youngsters out sailing, however we had mastless toppers, SUP Boards and Windsurfers on the water for 3hrs and the kids just loved it. They especially loved joining Tim n Dave on the Safety boat screaming up n down the coastline. Well done to everyone.
A short rest tonight and then we have the Kayaks and possibly sailing tomorrow. We expect another 14 young peeps in the morning !!!

White Goods For New Club

July 25, 2013 No Comments
I am delighted to inform you that Dave Smith has donated and paid for, a new Electric cooker and Microwave for the new clubhouse. Carol Clifton has purchased a large Pine Table and we have 2 other pine tables  ready for the clubhouse.  There will be other items we shall identify as needed once we have opened up the garage and placed goods into the clubhouse on 1st and 2nd of August ready for NWNSA weekend and thereafter.
WE DO NEED NOW a small upright freezer if anyone is thinking of parting with one?
Once the builders have departed, we shall identify a host of items needed to complete phase 2 of the build. We are currently awaiting decisions re funding bids, However we believe that once the club is functioning once again, some of our members may be able to volunteer to either supply goods, or offer their expertise in building infrastructure work.
We intend to have a roll of honour dedicated to those who can supply goods and services as a lasting memorial to the help our members will/have given to the rebuild.
Don’t hesitate to contact me with any ideas and I look forward to seeing as many as possible of you in our new clubhouse from 1st August.

My thanks to all who came and supported us on the water today, especially all our younger members who really made it a special  day. We had lots camera shots which look good on the replay. Shame the wind died for the cats, but was perfect weather for kayaks etc, and the club was even mentioned in the Credits at the end of the show.

Damage at the Club House

May 31, 2013 No Comments
Will all members please note the club property has been targeted for a second time by local yobs. The pink Topper and trailer were thrown over the sea wall this time  and thankfully Rob the foreman on the new club site had the sense to get it up off the beach as the tide came in. Dave Gumb Chris Howe and I have secured it to a ground ring with a safety chain. I have the key at moment till I can give it to Tim.
The first damaged Topper has now disappeared altogether also. The police are aware and will step up patrols.
The yobs also smashed a window in the new build, broke open the front door and let off the fire extinguishers.
I am currently making a set of stocks to erect on the Spinney !!!!!
