Sailing 2017
Won’t be too long before the 2017 season kicks in – so here’s a brief heads-up as to our plans regards Sailing in 2017.
On a competitive level – the club’s contribution to the annual regatta “North West Norfolk Week” will be the weekend of 5th and 6th of August this year. For more information check out the NWNW website atΒ www.norfolkweek.co.uk
On a club level – we’re planning on holding regular FUN races throughout the season open to both members and non-members. This will kick off on Sun 23rd April with a ‘Refresher’ session open to those wanting to race or to dust off the cobwebs. Participants need to be capable of sailing from the shore and back to the shore unsupervised in moderate conditions. Those that participated in at least two of the training sessions last year should be OK to join in. Use your own boat or club boats if needed.
The planned races will then take place on:
April 30th – race start 10am
May 28th – race start 9am
June 25th – race start 9am
July 30th – race start 11am
August 27th – race start 10am
September 24th – race start 9.30am
If anyone requires more information email Stuart Moore at stuart@ee-scape.com or telephone 01485 579363.
Outside of these dates we also have pencilled in a couple of days where you can come and give sailing a go / take a ‘joyride’ in a boat: namely “Push the boat out” on 21st May and a general club open day on July 1st. More details to follow.
If there’s enough interest / support we will also run some informal sessions between the dates above.
Remember this is community / volunteer run club – so if there’s anything you think we should be doing / anything you’d be willing to help with – please don’t be shy about coming forward π
Regards the above and all other events – please keep an eye on the club ‘Events Calendar’ page atΒ www.hunstantonsc.co.uk/events
King of the Air / Six Nations
If the livefeed from Cape Town is running tomorrow afternoon (thurs) we’ll have the bar open and Red Bull King of the Air event on screen at the club π
Same with the start of the Six Nations on Saturday – England v France kick-off 5pm π
…will England be the same without the Vunipola’s?
