06/08/07 - Help this weekend...
As many of you are aware the committee boat, PIG, has lived up to it name and caused us a problem, the rudder has broken off and we need to get it ashore for repair.

The next tide that is suitable is the weekend Aug 11 & 12th if we can have volunteers for Sat 11th at 0800 to get the trailer on the beach and the boat floated on.

Failing that tide then Sunday 12th at 0800 to have a second try. There is an urgency to get the repair done ASAP as the RS300 nationals start at Hunstanton on Sept 6th, helpers please for this prestige event at our club.

All replies please for help to Ian 01485 571146 or ian@holland.bbmax.co.uk .

26/04/07 - Boot Sale To Become an Annual Event
HSC's first Water Sports Boot Sale proved to be a popular event on Sunday 22 April, and while there was no fear of being trampled in the rush there was a steady flow of interest, and a lot of equipment changed hands throughout the day. Windsurfing sails, some in pristine condition and some resembling crisp packets found new homes, as did a variety of boards and associated equipment. Other items on sale included a dinghy and a bespoke windsurfing trailer.

It is proposed to make the Boot Sale an annual event, possibly to be held on the same day each year so Club and non-members will know when to expect the event. A small charge will probably be made to non-members who wish to sell items. Please feel free to send any comments, or suggestions for future Boot Sales to Garry Moore - garry.moore@ukgateway.net  or any committee member.

16/04/07 - Water Sports Boot Sale this weekend!!
A reminder that the Water Sports Boot Sale is on Sunday 22nd April between 11.00 and 14.30 prior to the AGM at 15.00. Hopefully the event will be well supported and there will be many bargains to be found. It is hoped that there will be interest from non club members and you may well have seen the adverts in the local press and the posters at nearby beaches. ( Unfortunately there has not been much wind of late so the posters may have been seen by more dog walkers than sailors ).

There is dinghy racing earlier on the Sunday morning and if it is a windy day parking may be at a premium and may have to be restricted. Would people with kit to sell please park as far north of the clubhouse as possible so as to be clear of dinghies and the dumper etc

08/03/07 - Working Party time!
As HSC prepares for the new season the usual working party dates have now been arranged. Dates are Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March, Saturday 24th March and Sunday 1st April.
Please would everyone spend a couple of hours just doing something to improve the Clubhouse for all members. It might be a bit of spring cleaning, minor repairs, weeding etc. Remember its our club!!.

If you prefer the wetter jobs, come and help on 18th March at 13.30 to lay the mooring for the committee boat; and 8am on 1st April to launch the committee boat and set out buoys. (anyone else noticed that's April Fool's Day? ah well, if the tide's right...)

Picture opposite shows the pig on the bottom during last summer!

08/03/07 - Job vacancy - bar staff
We would like the bar to be open every Friday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime. It has to be consistent to be successful, so we have agreed we should pay bar staff (minimum wage). However we would prefer it to be a club member - or several members who could make up a rota and provide cover.
ANY ENQUIRIES to Julia (01485 541031) or a committee member please.

08/03/07 - Volunteers for barbecue (no, not to be cooked on it, to run it)
We need to provide a hot meal (about 6.30pm) for dinghy sailors after North West Norfolk sailing on Sunday 29th July. Can we have a couple of volunteers to run the barbie? and a couple more to sort out some side dishes eg salad, rolls, jacket potatoes/rice/boiled potatoes....
ANY ENQUIRIES to Julia (01485 541031) or a committee member please.

  08/03/07 - Membership
We have a large number of Full, ie single members. Please remember that if you bring your family down they must be signed in as guests. For the sake of a few quid, why not upgrade to Family membership so they can make free use of the Clubhouse even if you're not around.
